Frequently Asked Questions
What is Circletalk?
Circletalk is a human centred transition planning tool that helps people prepare for life's biggest transitions by sharing what matters with the people who support them.
Whether you're preparing for a new school, employment, healthcare, disability supports, independent living or aged care, Circletalk helps create shared understanding before the next stage begins.
Users create a personalised profile describing who they are, how they communicate, what support works, the things they want to do and what others need to know. They can then invite trusted supporters into their Support Circle and choose when and with whom they share their information.
Who is Circletalk designed for?
Circletalk is designed for people with disability, complex conditions and those navigating major life transitions.
It supports individuals, families and the people around them, including educators, allied health professionals, employers, support providers and community organisations.
Circletalk has been developed in collaboration with people who use and deliver supports and is designed to grow with each person's journey.
Why is Circletalk different?
Circletalk isn't designed to replace medical records or existing systems.
Instead, it helps people prepare for transitions by capturing the information that often isn't found in reports.
It focuses on:
-
Who the person is
-
How they communicate
-
What support works
-
Their strengths and interests
-
The things they want to do
-
What others need to know before they meet
Is Circletalk a medical or clinical platform?
No.
Circletalk is not a medical, diagnostic or clinical record system.
It doesn't store medical reports, therapy notes or diagnostic documentation.
Instead, it focuses on practical information that helps people prepare for everyday life and successful transitions.
Why does Circletalk focus on strengths rather than medical information?
Circletalk is built on a strengths based approach.
Rather than defining people by diagnosis, Circletalk encourages individuals to share their strengths, interests, communication preferences, the support that works for them and the things they want to do.
As people grow and their confidence develops, interests can become strengths and new opportunities can emerge.
